Where beauty takes root.
Our story
It doesn’t feel quite right to tell you where we are until you know where we’ve been. I was born and raised in southern Ontario Canada, in a family where the art of growing wasn’t just a hobby - it was a way of life. My childhood home sat nestled within a two acre perennial garden, a place where color and fragrance shaped every season. My mom was always in the garden, tending blooms, planning, reworking and gently fussing at the weeds.
My grandparents were farmers. Some of the happiest memories came from those days. Their vegetable patch was impressive, but it was the flowers that held their hearts. I can still see the way their faces lit up at the scent of a rose or the perfect bloom of a dahlia - these are the moments that planted something deep with in me.
Picked with care
Those early roots eventually led me here - growing and designing flowers of my own. What began as a simple love for the garden has become a floral studio shaped by intention artistry and a deep appreciation for beauty.
Today Mark and I pour our hearts into nurturing this little spot we’ve built together. Blending hard work, creativity and a shared devotion to the land.
One of the greatest joys of the journey is passing those same lessons on to our grandchildren - how to notice a bud before it opens, how to care for the soil, how to appreciate the quiet magic of a flower in bloom. In many ways, Little Spot of Blooms is a continuation of generations before us - a place were love , legacy and flowers are all grown with care.
“From start to finish, working with Valerie was pleasant and stress free. The florals for the wedding were perfect and beyond what we could have imagined.”
